Reopening February 2023!

We are very pleased to inform our community that the Refugee Therapy Centre has reopened on the 7th of February 2023. We are in the process of restarting our psychotherapy and associated services. Our offices in Leeds place are open on Tuesdays from 10 am - 5 pm.

Our priority remains to provide therapeutic support to refugees, asylum seekers and the destitute, which is especially important as the pandemic brings further challenges to those who already need our help.

Although we have continued some small-scale clinical work while the centre has been closed, there have been no administrative or fundraising staff for almost a year. This means we currently have no statutory or voluntary funding in place. In order to fully re-establish our support to patients as well as our training and research on resilience, we need your help and support.

If you are a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, we need your clinical support. It would be great a help if you could volunteer a few hours a week to provide high quality intercultural psychoanalytic treatments to people who have endured massive trauma and human right violations and need to deal with their memory of trauma, and to move on in life in their new environment.

Everyone can help the work of the Centre by securing funding.  For friends who are not clinicians but would like to join our journey in serving patients, there are many ways to help, including one off or regular donations, or organising fundraising events and campaigning for funding. If you feel you can help in any way, please contact us at: officeadmin@refugeetherapy.org.uk.

Wishing you all the best for a prosperous 2023 and looking forward to hearing from you.
