Refugee Therapy Centre

The RTC has a track record of over twelve years of community engagement in provision of psychological therapy and associated treatment to refugees and asylum seekers. In 2007, the service was recognised as a model of Best Practice Specialist Service by Islington Primary Care Trust (PCT), and commissioned for the CDW Project to work with refugee communities in Islington. In 2008 we received funding for this service from City and Hackney PCT for the financial year 2009-2010. In July 2010 the Refugee Therapy Centre won a shortlisted price Award from Centre for Social Justice.

 Aida and Award

In June 2009, the Centre's Clinical Director received the 2009 Women in Public Life Award for Voluntary Sector Achiever of the Year. The Dods & Scottish Widows Women in Public Life Awards were established to recognise and promote the work of women in politics, business, the civil services and community leadership. Winners are great achievers in their line of work, who show passion and drive in their endeavours and are an inspiration for others.
